Jo's Art

The centuries old art of Chinese brush painting has been enjoyed by people all over the world. Chinese brush paintings use black and colored inks on rice paper. Since rice paper is so delicate, the painting must be mounted on heavier paper, before being framed. This mounting process is done with great care, so as not to damage the rice paper. The results are amazing:

About the Artist:

Jo Merli
Jo studied Chinese Brush Painting for 10 years. She studied under two instructors, one is a Chinese Master painter, at colleges in Southern California. She then embarked on a teaching career at several colleges, a university, an art museum and Art Centers located in Southern California and Atlanta, Georgia. Jo has now been teaching for over twenty years, and is currently teaching at a college in Southern California.
